No Kings RULED, New Smokey The Bear RESIST Designs + Lemony Avocado Coconut Kale Salad | 6/15/25
No Faux King Way!
Hi folks,
Happy Fathers Day - I hope it’s been a good one. And if you’ve lost a dad or child, I’m sending you a virtual hug as I know this day can be painful for many people.
If you joined a No Kings protest yesterday, I hope you had a great time peacefully protesting Trump’s dangerous and destructive overreach and attacks on our democracy and rights. The one I went to was a lot of fun and roughly a million times better than a stupid, expensive military parade - see a few photos below.
Please check out my brand new designs for magnets, mugs, hats, and stickers featuring Smokey the Bear Resistance style, and more. Let me know if you’re looking for any other merch and I’ll add it.
And I hope you enjoy this tasty lemony kale salad with avocado coconut dressing - it’s a nutritional powerhouse.
Cheers,
Eve
EAT: Lemony Kale Salad with Creamy Avocado Coconut Dressing
We’ve had a couple of perfect avocadoes lately and they reminded me to make this salad. It’s a keeper because it’s easy, really good for you, and very tasty. A win-win-win!

DECORATE: New Buttons, Magnets & Stickers
As a little girl, I was a little obsessed with the Smokey the Bear Golden Book my mom would read me. His cute, brave little face after losing his mom, his singed fur, stinging eyes, and bandaged paws all melted my heart. And I admired the way he turned his childhood trauma into his life’s work of protecting other animals from forest fires. I’ve loved this dungarees-wearing, shovel-toting orphaned bear cub turned walking PSA ever since.
Smokey is a perfect messenger for our current moment. Created in 1944 by the US Forest Service and the Ad Council to educate people about preventing forest fires, his image is now being used to educate people about preventing fascist liars (which rhymes - always a plus!) I’ve made this brave little resistance bear the star of stickers, magnets, mugs, and hats in case you want to claim him as your own.
LOOK: Photos from NO KINGS! on Saturday
I didn’t have time to make any new signs yesterday so we grabbed two of our Dump Trump signs from Hands Off and I wrote “No Kings” on two golden paper crowns I’d saved from Christmas crackers and we headed off for a peaceful march in celebration of democracy and opposition of tyrrany. I particularly appreciated the taco helium balloon someone flew high above the crowd, the Trump toilet brushes a number of people were carrying, the awesome felted Trump someone made (pic below), all the crowns people were sporting, the “No Faux King Way” signs (brilliant!), and the folks who carried their drums for the march.

Keep on resisting. I hope your work/school week is a good one.
